Get a valuationSalvington sits on the southern slopes below High Salvington, between the A27 and the foot of the Downs. It's a predominantly residential neighbourhood — Salvington Road runs north-south through the patch, with smaller streets like Maybridge Crescent, Brook Barn Way and Buckingham Drive branching off.
Housing is a mix of 1930s semis, post-war family homes, and small pockets of newer developments. Bigger detached houses appear toward the top of the slope nearer High Salvington. Gardens are typically generous; off-street parking is the norm. The Salvington shops on Salvington Road provide a small useful parade — convenience store, takeaway, hairdresser.

Durrington-on-Sea station is the closest — 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes walk south. The A27 runs along the southern boundary and the A24 along the eastern edge for the London road run. Buses 1, 1A and 7 connect to central Worthing in 15-20 minutes.
Springfield Junior and Maybridge Junior are well-regarded state primaries. Salvington's secondary catchment runs to Worthing High School or Durrington High School.
Families and second-time renters who want a quiet residential street with a parking space, walking access to the Downs, and a short drive to the seafront. The A27 noise is the main caveat — properties further north (toward High Salvington) escape it. Less amenity-rich than central Worthing, much better space per pound.

Durrington is Worthing's northern edge — a largely 1930s-onwards family neighbourhood between the South Downs and the A27, with good schools, a station, and easier-to-afford housing than the seafront.
High Salvington is the hilltop village above Salvington — quiet, leafy, with the South Downs Way on its doorstep and panoramic views across Worthing to the sea. Predominantly larger family homes on generous plots.
The Thomas à Becket neighbourhood is the residential pocket west of central Worthing built around the Thomas à Becket Junior and Infant Schools — 1930s family streets, very strong primary catchment, and one of the most popular family-rental addresses in the town.
Broadwater sits just north of central Worthing — a big, settled village core wrapped in family streets, with a green at its heart and some of the most-requested primary schools in town.
