Lancing station is in the middle of the patch — Brighton in 16 minutes, Worthing 5 minutes, London Victoria 1 hour 19 minutes. The A259 runs along the seafront and the A27 cuts north of Sompting for fast road access. Most properties have off-street parking, which makes the area more practical for one- or two-car households than central Worthing or Brighton.
Lancing College (private, Grade I listed chapel on the hill) is the area's most visible. State primaries include Sompting Village, Boundstone, and North Lancing. Sir Robert Woodard Academy is the local state secondary.
Renters who want coastal living with a parking space and a budget that wouldn't quite stretch to Goring or Brighton-side. Popular with younger families priced out of central Worthing, commuters who don't mind the 5-minute eastbound train, and downsizers. Less buzzy than Brighton or central Worthing — that's the point.
